Just to share with you……

I like Halwa made of white pumpkin. This halwa is common in food in small occassions. I just thought of making halwa using Yellow/Red pumpkin which has natural sweetness in it. I thought of making it like carrot halwa but before doing that I made quick search in web. I tried out the recipe I got and here is the same for you.

Ingredients

1. Pumpkin – 5 cups(grated)
2. Milk – 1 cup
3. Sugar – 1 cup or to taste
4. Honey – 1 cup
5. Cardamom – 5
6. Cashew nuts – 10 (broken into small pieces)
7. Ghee – ½ cup

Note : use same cup for measuring all.

Preparation

  1. Peel the outer skin and grate the pumpkin. Keep it aside.
  2. Roast the cashew nuts in ghee and broken into small pieces.Keep it aside.
  3. Take a pan and heat with 1 tsp of ghee and add the grated pumpkin.
  4. Stir well in low flame till the raw smell disappears. (Note -Raw smell should go away completely)
  5. Then add milk and cook till the pumpkin is tender.
  6. Then add honey(optional) and sugar. Stir continuously.
  7. Add 4 tsp of ghee and stir well till the ghee floats.
  8. Finally add roasted cashew nuts and cardamom powder.
